Description:

Tobacco pipe of meerschaum with Turkish model bowl with twelve-sided funnel-shaped bowl on weighted convex base, round bottom with rounded rat tail and ascending stem widening in stub. Bowl and stem fully mounted in two alloys silver with hammered and engraved parts, incorporated worked valve cover with drum shape with standing slotted air holes and a central button, worked clamping spring. Bowl internal label with handwritten collection number "64". Original mounting with long straight stem consisting of sections lined with silver with alternating engraved and hammered parts, at the end a slack silver wire wrapped and horn mouthpiece, double silver retaining chain with elongated links from the stem to the bowl. Matching case of wood covered with brown leather exterior with two hooks as closure, interior dark blue velvet.

Comments
Een zeer opmerkelijke pijp door zijn arbeidsintensieve montage in twee alliages zilver, indertijd een buitengewoon kostbaar en vooral ook ongebruikelijk stuk. Ook de zorgvuldige foedraal getuigt van de hoge mate van luxe.
